Omar Marcos - Change Log 2026

CHANGE LOG

Since this is basically intended to be a portfolio website that, upon completion, likely won't be updated daily, I've decided against implementing an RSS feed for the artistic sections of my site (…with the exception of the News page). Instead, I've chosen to include a change log where you can keep track of any major changes I make. Yes, I realize these are typically reserved for app & software development, but it's the first title that came to mind. And ideally I should have initiated this in the Summer of 2022 when I began this version of my website, but better late than never!

  • SPRING UPDATES

    April 19, 2026
Again, I bit off more than I could chew in terms of coding and art prep, so the revisions list is fairly minimal:

1 )  As some of you may have noticed in an unfinished page update that slipped in last week, I'm working on restructuring the Character Design illustration page. The minor changes haven't been completed yet, so I reverted back to the original page format. It's been a while since I've been able to develop these type of illustrations and I'm eager to get started again; however, for now a relatively new original character design from August 2023 will have to suffice.

2 )  When artificial intelligence tech companies began scraping content from the sites of creatives years ago, I added a very simple meta tag to almost all of my pages to prevent them from being indexed by search engines. While some unethical companies & their corresponding robots disregarded those instructions, Google thankfully respected that and complied. However, now that mechanisms are in place on my sites to protect against scraping of my work for the training of artificial intelligence systems, it doesn't make sense to continue to implement that meta tag. And besides, right now if you conduct a certain keyword search corresponding to me, you'll end up with unassociated results ranging from a doctor, an engineer, a Latin American mayor, as well as a suspected criminal in another state with a similar sounding name! So I figured it would be best to begin to reclaim my position in search engine results again, which unfortunately can sometimes be a drawn-out waiting process. I won't announce these type of site revisions here on this changelog, and most of them won't be immediately visible on the front end of pages anyway. But for those of you who use alternate methods to track revisions across webpages, more than likely they'll be related to SEO. Thank you for your understanding!

3 )  Purchase options for two of my "Les Années" illustrations are now detailed on the News page!

  • QUICK UPDATES

    March 28, 2026
Just a few simple updates: I've corrected a few mis-specified images in the News page and I've also started to upload content for the Les Années section. For those who are more observant than most, you'll see that I'm beginning to recategorize the file paths for my self-initiated Fine Art genres, such as the latter. This is basically just an organizational preference (and it may also help with search engine optimization when those genre pages increase in number), so I apologize in advance for any broken links for the "Die Buchstaben" section when I apply the same reorganization principles. Thank you!

  • BACK AGAIN

    March 20, 2026
I realize it's been a while since I've posted updates, but you'll have to forgive me as I've been experimenting with different techniques and delving into a few new genres. The results of some of my efforts are still in a nascent stage, but it seems art is needed more than ever in today's cultural & political environment, so I'm presenting many of these updates in a semi-unfinished state.

1 )  I'm making the pages of this site more responsive by having the section headers & subheaders reduce in size for mobile devices. Right now most of the Fine Art section should resize accordingly, but stay tuned for complete modifications across the board!

2 )  I'm working on improving my artwork photography skills and you can view a few examples in the photo of my new abstract painting Winter Walks by the Seaside, as well as the reshoots for the Bloom painting and the Unfurling sculpture (which is now in Phase II).

3 )  The Fine Art page now has two new genres: Portraits (which is still simply a landing page) and Les Années. The visual depictions of assorted fashions across the decades was a project I began some time ago, but the completion of those artworks was eclipsed by far greater priorities. However, I'd like to announce that now a few of those pieces are scheduled to be featured in an upcoming art magazine - you can find a little more info on this in the News page.

And hopefully the next updates will be just a bit more complete!

  • FIXES & A NEW FINE ART GENRE

    January 30, 2026
Perhaps you noticed a few quirks such as the font size irregularities for mobile devices & a missing image in a few of the pages I updated in my previous post. (That's what happens when you're in a rush to push out site revisions!) But those minor glitches should all be fixed now, and apart from that, the only other changes I've made this time are as follows:

1 )  Dividing up the entirely too long Change Log into separate pages by year, as you can see by the sub-menu links at the top and bottom of this section. This makes it much more convenient to track site updates across time (…if anyone's really interested in doing so 😴).

2 )  Introducing a new Fine Art genre section: Die Buchstaben

  • CATCHING UP

    January 23, 2026
It's the first update of the New Year and I'm still here playing catchup. At least for now, some things haven't changed!

1 )  Although most of the updated photos aren't really new in the strictest sense, I'm starting to fill in the gaps in the Culinary Arts page. For the featured Remixes, I've also provided a link on each individual food listing that will open up the original dish in a new page.

2 )  I've added a few more works to the Painting section under Fine Art.

3 )  Mobile phone photos have now been introduced to the Landscapes photography page, along with a top menu bar to lead you directly to each subsection.

4 )  And I'm slowly but surely getting closer to finishing the Defense of Christianity writing sample, finishing sections 2 & 12 and adding to the Faith vs. Science section. I've also delineated quotes throughout the article by color & font style to make it easier to differentiate between sources.
