One of my graphic design instructors once related how fine artists & graphic designers/illustrators were fiercely at odds with each other at his alma mater. Fortunately there was no such animosity where I attended school, and that's likely due in part to the culture espoused by Professor Fanizza & the other instructors there. And that's how it should be, as the paths of fine artists & commercial artists will often intersect, and we can accomplish incredibly more in a collaborative spirit.
In the above portfolio sections, sometimes I'll provide a play-by-play breakdown of my artistic thought processes, often interspersed with a few snippets of art history, and at other times I'll let my work stand on its own, sans descriptions. Everyone brings a different set of life experiences to an art viewing, and each piece, irregardless of the artist's intent, can be open to your personal interpretation.
