These aren't the amazing caricatures you see at events or theme parks that can be finished within a few minutes, simply because I don't have that magical ability to create an accurate image likeness so quickly. By the time I would finish a caricature at a live event, little Suzy's ice cream cone would have melted and her parents would have started to grow moss on one side!
I confess, most of my previous art experience had been in still-lifes & animals, and I never enrolled in any college-level figure drawing classes, so learning how to draw people has been an uphill challenge for me. But I guess that's why they refer to graduation day as "commencement": It's only supposed to be the beginning of a lifetime of learning. (Cue inspirational music here.)
