- ACRYLIC + WATERCOLOR
May 16, 2025

For the 2025 Rochester Contemporary Art Center's 6x6 fundraiser I changed it up a bit and created figurative works for the event, as you can see above. The heavy, almost waterless paint outlines serve to highlight the models' poses and add an air of immediacy to the quickly rendered depictions. And light accents of color provide just enough character to each "Mini Model" piece to endow it with some vibrancy and an anti-monotone quality.
I have to admit, trying to find 6 to 8 inch models to pose for these was no easy task, and such opportunities can be quite fleeting. So be sure to take advantage of this art fundraiser that makes art accessible to all!
While many of my fine art works deal with slightly deeper themes, this series is obviously a bit on the lighter side. But it's a necessary reminder that it's okay to have fun with art. And hopefully you can find a way to bring a bit of levity and lightheartedness at appropriate times in whatever field of work you're in, as well.
